The Dreaded CD Recording Record Manufactures brought the CD on the market to replace the vinyl platter, but the sound produced by the CD is nothing in comparison to the vinyl record. A CD can be easily copied or download from the Internet. A vinyl platter can never be downloaded. A vinyl record has a life span of 100 years where as a CD, if you are lucky may last for 10 years. Recording companies moans about the loss in revenue as regards to the CD. Why? Because anybody can pirate a CD easily, yet CD recording are more expensive to buy than the vinyl record. The vinyl record will always remain highly on the list of the collector. Has the recording companies missed out on something? |
