Previous Page: The year 1878 April Thomas Edison went to Washington to give a demonstration to Congress of his new development the “seventh wonder of the world”. The cylindral Tinfoil phonograph machine. He was so capitulated by his invention; he even held private presentation for Rutherford B. Hayes who was the then President. Because of his invention, Thomas Edison became known as the “Wizard of Menlo Park”. Thomas Edison's comment of his cylinder phonograph was to express himself in a philosophical manner as he stated: “But, this is my baby, and I expect it to grow up to be a big fellow and support me in my old age. ....

"Thomas Alva Edison was considered to be one of greatest inventors of the 19th Century, and to think, he had only four months formal education which goes to show that with a little effort and determination, any individual can succeed as Thomas Edison did to become one of the most prolific and greatest inventor of all times"......  I would personally say; that in my mind, he was the greatest inventor of all time, no one has yet to come close to equal his prolific inventions and neither have they been able to patent as many inventions as he did, and perhaps never will. To this day: Edison is the real McCoy. Thomas Alva Edison was born on 11th February 1847 in Milan, Ohio, USA. He died on 21st October 1931 three days after his 84th birthday.
