Be Careful About Vinyl Grading

History of Vinyl 21a

vinyl records information page with listed online record dealers shops and retailers

Unspoilt: Full Gloss, perfectly clear vinyl surface and good grooves, no chips, dings, scuffs, or scratches. Label bright and unblemished. A rare condition for any record that was popular with it's owner.

VG+: Vinyl record has more superficial scratches lots of surface noise, but doesn't hamper listening pleasure and has retained much of the original gloss. Waning! Label fading has colours with more wear being evident on surface of vinyl grooves.

VG: Where you can see that record has been visibly play a lot but may have a few major scratches and more small scratches and scuffs. Should play without skipping. Surface noise is getting a bit unbearable. Label shows a lot of use and handling vinyl disc should still be legible.

Good But!!: Not so good, really. Vinyl Record decidedly worn or abused, may still play without skipping, but clicks and noise make it a burden to enjoy the music. Not really worth buying unless you are desperate. Give it a wide berth!
