The first thing to remember is this fact: an analogue vinyl record is far more fragile than a CD. The vinyl has no such protection and is subjected to all sorts of environmental hazards. 8. The grooves of a vinyl record are exposed and is vulnerable at the mercy of environmental effects such as fingerprints, dust grit, spilled coffee, smoke, grease, beer and soft drinks splash along with worn stylus needles. Worn styluses are the vinyl's worst enemy. you will not be able to wipe away the damage a worn stylus can cause to the grooves of the vinyl record. 9. At all cost never eat food while you are playing your vinyl records. Wash your hands every time before handling your vinyl discs. Careless handling is the usual cause of dirt on vinyl records and once they become smeared or dust gets in the grooves their reproductive sound becomes decidedly impaired. |
