Previous Page: The undulations in the groove walls is stored to the equivalent of 300 Mb of music at frequencies up to 40kHz, amounting to twice that of the Compact Disc (CD). I am a great lover of the vinyl analogue records and I know that many of you who are reading my rendition of the history of the vinyl are vinyl lovers too. In my view, the usage of a vinyl record on a turntable, I have to say from my past and present experiences the vinyl record has that uniqueness in sound reproduction cannot be found at all in any CD even if it produced in analogue format. There are times when I can feel and smell the music coming from the vinyl records. This type of effect is especially evident when there are live musicians are playing on the vinyl record. I can get high on the music from vinyl recordings all day and all night, but I cannot get that feel from the digital compact disc known as the CD and although the vinyl is very fragile in comparison with the CD. The digital compact disc and the vinyl disc are worlds apart. You could say that they were created in two different universes! Although you cannot hear this and most musical instruments are far below that, these frequencies contribute much of the harmonic structure of the sound which I strongly regard it as being registered only in the brain. |
