Prepare For It!

Preparing Your Vinyls For Cleaning

A personal experience from the author of how to go about using the common domestic household bleach is as follows: first I get two tea towels, the plain cloth type and not the fluffy type - no fluff must be on them. Next, a bottle of thick bleach, and lastly but most importantly; a mat made out of cork slightly larger than the circumference of your record label for which you will place on top of the vinyl record labels.

On The Kitchen Table

Now, well prepared, having all the apparatus I need to get the job done my next step is to place one of the tea towels on a flat surface preferably the kitchen table, and then I get the record I want to clean and place it on top of it!

You will really love the finished effect it has on the sound reproduction after you get your record on the turntable after you've cleaned your vinyl records with domestic bleach!
