The path that led me on to the vinyl Track started in Jamaica – little did I know I would end up on a road leading from Jamaica to England and finally ending up in Cyberspace collecting records all along the way!! Of course, I can recall being nine with a vehement love for music. I would get up early in the mornings just to search on dad’s short wave radio for American stations playing Cowboy songs and Hill Billy Music. As the years rolled by I became more interested in Rhythm and Blues.
Eventually, I became a lover of genre rhythms that consist of Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Latin, Meringue, Mento and Calypso. Reggae was yet to be born as a musical genre. As a youth I was constantly sneaking out of the house late every Saturday night to listen to my favourite sound system playing the latest rhythms. I pledged to myself that one day I would own all of these magic records. Hey, here I am sharing a little of my past with you. Oh boy, I certainly did enjoy my boyhood days! - The Author. | M y
