Though many recording producers and recording artists from all over the visited Lee Perry at his black ark studios to learn about his skills and secrets, none has over the past thirty years or more has managed to emulate Perry' music on  the recording platter, each and every single one has so far failed. Bob Marley tried to record some of the tunes Perry had produced for him in the seventies and he too failed. With Lee Perry's unique mix and blending he went on to become the most important and major force in the development of reggae music, creating totally unique sounds that gave rise to his widespread popularity throughout the world. Lee Perry was the first producer to give us the musical Dub on a vinyl discs!

 

Perry In Kingston Town

Lee Perry is the first record producer to give rise the phraseology of alternate music! Jamaican government should make it  possible for Lee Perry to get a Doctorate Degree in music for his services to Jamaica cultural music as a whole. In 1959 Lee Perry  left his little country village and went to Kingston town  to seek work in the musical recording industry. His first port of call was to visit recording  producer Duke Reid's treasure isles Studio, but was turned down flat by the Duke. Perry instantly went to the legendary producer Coxsone Dodd who took on Perry as his A and R man. As you can imagine: The rest is history as Lee Perry became as he from strength to strength to become the most dominant force in world music!
