Hands Off

Careless handling is the usual cause of dirt on vinyl records and once they become smeared, or dusty their sound reproduction is impaired. At no time should you indulge in bad practices like pulling a vinyl record out of its sleeve.

The friction caused by pulling the vinyl out of the sleeve will charge it with static electricity, which attracts dust. Hold apart the sides of the sleeves and pull out the vinyl record carefully by the rim. Do not let your fingers touch the grooves, do not leave your vinyl records lying about uncovered; they most certainly will gather dust.
